Dragon Curve

The Dragon Curve Fractal is a geometric pattern that is a not-so-obvious result of a fairly simple idea. It is formed by a line that makes either a left or right 90-degree turn at regular intervals. The formula for determining whether to turn left or right arises from folding a piece of paper: You begin by taking a strip of paper and folding it in half by bringing the left end to the right. Once folded in half, the process is repeated, again bringing the left end to the right. This process is repeated over and over again. When the paper is finally unfolded, there will be a series of creases, some concave and others convex. The form takes shape when the paper is arranged by making each crease 90 degrees. The true fractal is only created after infinite folds, but it takes just a few iterations (n = 8 or 9) to see the overall form of the fractal.

CyberKnight

CyberKnight is a cybersecurity automation scanner. It automatically scans systems to determine the operating system environment and detect installed software. It then scans the operating system and software settings and generates a detailed report for a security analyst to review.

CyberKnight is built in two components: an engine and a script repository. The repository contains a separate script for each vulnerability. The engine is the job manager, executing appropriate scripts in parallel and collecting results.The individual vulnerability scripts are written in bash and the engine is implemented with Go.

COVID-19 S-I-R Model

A "Susceptible-Infected-Removed" model is a basic epidemiological tool used for modeling epidemics. The model is based on some simple differential equations. In other words this is based on the rates of change for the number of people infected is dependent on the current number of people susceptible, infected and removed (recovered or deceased). This COVID-19 model pulls data about various countries and plots the S-I-R graphs on top.

It is important to note that this is a very naive model and only works on short-term waves. It does not take into account social policies such as shelter-in-place, wearing face masks, or just other randomness that affects the reproductive rate. In a traditional S-I-R model, the driving force for the decrease in the number of infected is due to the depletion of the number of susceptible individuals. However, COVID-19 has affected a much smaller percentage of populations, which is likely due to changes in social behavior. This also means, however, that undoing those changes may yield subsequent waves as we have not reached (and hopefully will not reach) significant percentages of the population infected.
